The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of England 1966 World Cup winner and Fulham legend George Cohen.
The former defender passed away at the age of 83.
Born in Fulham in 1939, Cohen joined the club in 1956 initially as a grounds-staff member before becoming a player the following year.
Establishing himself as the club’s first-choice right-back, he made 457 appearances for Fulham.
Cohen earned an England call-up in 1964 and played in all the matches as vice-captain at the FIFA World Cup 1966 as Sir Alf Ramsey's men triumphed on home soil.
He won 37 caps for England before his career was cut short by a knee injury at the age of 29.
Cohen was awarded an MBE in 2000 for helping the English national team achieve their greatest honour.

There will be a moment’s applause prior to kick-off at Premier League matches from 26-28 December, while players and match officials will wear black armbands.
