Huddersfield Town have completed their first signing of the summer with the acquisition of striker Laurent Depoitre from FC Porto.

The 28-year-old Belgium international has agreed a two-year deal with the club, who have the option of a further year’s extension, for an undisclosed club-record fee.

"He is a proper striker; one who has played for a very good Belgium side, featured in elite European competition and who has won domestic titles," said Huddersfield manager David Wagner of the 6ft 3in former Gent centre-forward.

"He scores goals and is a real worker too, so he will fit the 'Terriers' Identity' very well."

Wagner's side open their maiden Premier League campaign at Crystal Palace on 12 August.
